Advanced discussion of the use of nonlinear analysis. Material and geometric (large displacement and contact) nonlinearities are discussed. Students learn when to use nonlinear analysis, and how to troubleshoot the models.

Prerequisites: Basic Nastran and Femap

• Nonlinear Restarts

Day 2:

• Iterative Linear Contact
• Nonlinear Contact
• Automated Surface Contact Generation (ASCG™)
• Automated Edge Contact Generation (AECG™)
• Interference/Press Fit

Day 3:

• Nonlinear Buckling
• Arc-length Methods
• Nonlinear Transient Dynamic Analysis
• Automated Impact Analysis (AIA™)
• Hyperelastic Materials/Concrete Material for simulating cracking
