Discussion of the composite structures analysis capabilities in Nastran. Topics include orthotropic and anisotropic material types. Discussions include the use of 2-D laminate elements, and the construction of 3-D solid models.

  • Joints and inserts
  • Introduction to 3D layered solid composites
  • Buckling of composites
  • Dynamic analysis of composites
  • Progressive Ply Failure Analysis (PPFA™)
